Southwestern Community Services has been on the front lines in the war on poverty since 1965. Housing Stabilization Services, as part of SCS, plays a pivotal role in serving our communities most vulnerable populations. In 2017 we served 250 individuals and 17 families in our Keene and Claremont emergency shelters. Our goal is to make a homeless event rare, brief, and non-recurring. Providing the basic necessities for our client’s health and safety accounts for a significant amount of our budget each year. Every dollar that we spend on cleaning and personal hygiene supplies is one less dollar available to help those who are facing a housing crisis.
