Set up a charity gift option on your registry with just a few clicks, so family and friends can help you help your favorite cause.

Once you’ve created your gift registry or wish list, you can add charity gifting by clicking on Cash Options.

Find your charity of choice by searching the Generous list of more than 1.5 million nonprofits, or pick from one of their Featured Cause Funds.

Confirm your choice, and Add to Registry. Your charity will appear right on your gift list, along with a personal message from you, if you like.

When family and friends view your registry, they’ll be able to easily make a contribution without leaving our site.
Frequently Asked Questions
How will family and friends know I’ve included a charity on my registry?
The charity you’re supporting will appear on your gift list with the rest of the items you’ve registered for. From there, you can share your customizable registry URL however you like.
How will I know when someone donates to my chosen charity?
You’ll get an email confirmation letting you know about each donation.
Will my registry be updated when someone makes a donation?
The total donation amount on your MyRegistry gift list will automatically update each time your registry receives a new donation.
What form of payment is accepted?
Payments can be made by credit card or Google Pay.
How are payments processed?
Donors will be making a contribution to the charity on a registrant’s behalf, with the contribution processed by Generous. When a donation is made, it will be deposited with Generous Charitable first, and Generous will distribute it to the charity. Generous Charitable will appear as the recipient organization on the tax receipt.
Is there a transaction fee?
There is a transaction fee of 10% of the donation amount that covers mandatory financial credit card service fees, in addition to platform fees. A donor can choose to cover the transaction fee so that the entire donation amount goes to the charity.
Are donations tax deductible?
Charity donations through MyRegistry Charitable Gifting and Generous are tax deductible for qualifying donors. Generous is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization recognized by the IRS. Generous Charitable will appear as the recipient organization on the tax receipt.
What organization name will appear on my tax receipt?
Donations are processed by Generous. Each donation is deposited with Generous Charitable first, and Generous distributes it to the charity. Generous Charitable will appear as the recipient organization on the tax receipt.
Can I add a charity if it is not already listed?
If you don’t find the charity you’re interested in on the Generous list, please contact us.
Is MyRegistry Charitable Gifting available for Canadian and other non-U.S. accounts?
At this time, Charitable Gifting is available only to our U.S. registrants.
