Leandro and Vanessa's story began at Hologic biotech company in Rancho Bernardo, San Diego. Vanessa was a single mom working as a laboratory technician and Leandro was a newly graduated chemist. The couple was on the same team, and friends for about 2 years before they had a romantic spark assisted by some liquid courage (scooby snacks) and karaoke tunes. Leandro and Vanessa have been dating since August 2015. On March 6, 2016 while waiting for the Uber ride to CRSSD festival, Leandro asked Vanessa to be his girlfriend. They moved in together in Mira Mesa in 2018 and then purchased a home in Santee in May 2021. 8 years later and they now live in their home in the beautiful mountains of Mission Trails. They have a little family now with their son Kayden and chipoo Nala.
