We met at a fraternity party, freshman year of college in Boston. Once we started dating, people always thought we'd been together for years when we'd only been together for weeks. This was already a good sign for our future. As we moved into our relationship, we talked about our love of travel and decided that we'd go to a new country every year for our anniversary. During the first three years we went to Amsterdam, London and Germany. Then we decided to move in together in a new town, NYC! Our relationship continued to grow and evolve in our new jobs and new home. Three more years passed and we went to Italy, Croatia and then GREECE! Of course Greece will always be a special place for us because that is where Jared proposed. It was the best vacation ever and we can't wait to include travel into the theme of our dream June wedding!
How did you meet AND WHERE WAS YOUR FIRST DATE?
Jared and I met at a fraternity party, freshman year of college at BU. He came up to me and asked me if I needed anything. As we started talking, I kept thinking how tall and nice he is. Then he asked me for my number and a week later we went on a first date. Jared picked me up at my dorm and we went to downtown Boston for a nice romantic dinner. We went on a walk along the waterfront and Jared gave me his jacket. It was the sweetest thing I'd ever experienced and I felt so safe and comfortable with him. We've been together ever since.
How and where did the proposal go down?
We were on our way to a vacation in Greece for our six-year anniversary. At the airport, Jared was so nervous and I thought it was because we were running late. Later I realized it was because he had the ring in his pocket as we were going through security. The second night we were there was our actual anniversary. We went for a beautiful dinner by candlelight and then took a walk along the water. All I could think was how this was just like our first date. Then Jared took off his jacket and put it around me, he whispered in my ear how much he loved me and then he went on one knee. I don't remember much but I remember whispering "yes" over and over again.
What is your favorite meal to cook together?
Jared and I love cooking together and trying new cuisines. We love making new recipes up as we go along. The best one we made was a chicken dish that I can't even remember the exact ingredients but it was so delicious! Also I love to bake cupcakes while Jared enjoys grilling.
