Andre and I were long distance for several years while we got to know each other and deepen our relationship. I was living and working in Toronto while he was studying medicine in Jamaica. We finally decided to take our relationship to the next stage in 2023. We got engaged in March and were married in December of 2024.
How did we meet?

Was it love at first sight?
We took our time getting to know each other. We would often spend snatches of time together in cities like buffalo and Brooklyn NY at first. Later we began traveling to see each other in Canada and Jamaica as often as possible.
When and where was the proposal?
Andre proposed to me in Emancipation park in front of the statue of Marcus Garvey. I will never forget that moment! We were walking by and he said we should stop so I could read the inscription underneath. When I turned around there he was ring in hand. The proposal was short, sweet and perfect. I had suspected this was coming, but didn’t know when so he managed to surprise me in the best way!
