P.S. This list started as a registry for my 45th birthday, as a way to help me fight the birthday blues that came along with realizing I had spent six birthdays - six YEARS - in bed with ME/CFS.

But I realized, through the joy of receiving these gifts, and through watching the joy that similar registries brought to other friends with illnesses on their birthdays, that these registries don't just have to be for birthdays.

They can be for all the time.

Chronic illness is confusing and complicated and, well, CHRONIC. People often want to help but don't know how. Gifts are an easy way to show love, improve our quality of life, or even get us things we need for our medical care. And a registry is a way of illustrating EXACTLY what we need and want and can use, which is especially important for a population either allergic to nearly everything or unable to actually use anything.

So I am maintaining this list year-round. Any time you feel like you wish you could help, or brighten my day, and don't know how - choosing an option from this list is one way of doing just that.
