As popular stores like Bed Bath & Beyond and buybuy BABY Canada have recently closed their doors (in person and online), you might find yourself in a bind to know that you can’t access your wedding or baby registry anymore, and your list of gifts has been lost.
But don’t worry, there’s still hope! If you’re stressing over the need to put time and effort into creating a registry all over again, you can breathe a sigh of relief. We worked with Bed Bath & Beyond and buybuy BABY Canada to make sure that all of your historical registry information is still available through MyRegistry.
MyRegistry's Guide to Retrieving Your Gift Registry Items from Closed Stores
MyRegistry can help you to stay organized and ensure that you have a complete list of gifts you would like to receive, regardless of whether the original store where you found the item is still in operation. Here’s a quick list of things you can do to get your wedding or baby registry back on track if you previously had one on Bed Bath & Beyond or buybuy BABY Canada.
1. Sync to Find Your List
Currently, the only way to get the data from your Bed Bath & Beyond or buybuy BABY registries is to import it to your MyRegistry account. How do you do that? With our sync feature! Once you follow the steps below, you’ll be able to see all the items you had listed on your other registries:
- Create a MyRegistry account, if you don’t already have one.
- While you’re creating your account, you’ll be asked if you want to sync your MyRegistry page with any other registries – follow the steps to find your Bed Bath & Beyond or buybuy BABY registry.
- If you already have an account but you aren’t synced yet, you can do so here.
- Once you’ve synced your Bed Bath & Beyond or buybuy BABY registry, you’ll be able to access your gifts from your MyRegistry “Manage Gifts” page.
2. Experience the Benefits of a Universal Gift Registry
Even though you’ll be able to see all the gifts you had added from Bed Bath & Beyond or buybuy BABY, due to the stores being shut down in Canada, you will no longer be able to purchase gifts from those stores.
But that’s where MyRegistry being a universal gift registry comes in handy. You can add gifts from any store, anywhere and know that you’re getting exactly what you had wanted on your original registry. Simply use MyRegistry's browser extension or the "Add to MyRegistry" button on retailer’s website to add items to your registry. You can even take a look at some of our other favorite Canadian retailers here!
3. Share With Your Friends and Family
Once you've added items to your universal registry, share it with friends and family to let them know that you now have your wedding/baby registry with MyRegistry. If you had already shared your registry on the wedding invitation, share the updated one through email or social media!
Finally, if you encounter any issues, you can contact MyRegistry’s customer support team here for further assistance. We may be able to help you track down your registry or provide alternative solutions to help you manage your gift list.
