Life is Ruff. We want to help.

Owning a pet can be a joyous experience. Unfortunately, pets can also be loud, messy, and expensive. But, for many of us, they are our constant companions and best friends. We'd do anything for them. But what happens when you don't know how to stop the barking, you can't afford your pet's food this month, or your cats are fighting with each other nonstop? That's where we come in! Tell us your issues and we'll see if we can help. If we can't, we'll refer you to someone that can.

We also have several "long-term foster" kitties and one dog who are with us for life due to behavioral or medical reasons. (That's our blind girl Manawa in the photo!) Occasionally, we have a few adoptable pets as well!

Our "Offical" Mission:

Ruff Patches empowers Los Angeles area pet owners to keep their pets and helps stem the flow of animals entering the City and County shelter systems and nonprofit rescue organizations. Many issues can be remedied when pet owners have access to relevant information before obtaining a pet, access to additional education about pet care, and to resources such as low-cost spay/neuter, behaviorists, etc. Ruff Patches connects pet owners considering relinquishment of their pet to the resources they need to address their individual situation, with the goal of keeping the pet in its original home or, if necessary, finding a new appropriate placement.
