Thank you for supporting the registry and renovations here at Casa Mariposa! We are so grateful for all of the contributions that will make this house a comfortable and inviting place to be.

Your donation goes directly to support trans and queer people affected by the immigration-prison industrial complex. Casa Mariposa is a communal housing project run by Mariposas Sin Fronteras (a 501C3). We offer temporary housing for trans and queer migrating people as they leave detention.

Casa Mariposa began in 2017 when Mariposas Sin Fronteras opened the house. While the house was able to temporarily open, we were facing a series of obstacles: broken floors and cabinets, water pipes bursting, roof water damage, broken appliances, mold, and more...

We have had to temporarily close the two houses for extensive renovation and we are so close to completing that renovation and opening again! We are focusing on completing the back house with the items listed in this registry so that it can be reopened very soon. We will also need more volunteers once we have folks living in the house again to support in a variety of ways— so please reach out if you think that could be you!

We hope and work to see all people free from detention and living a life of liberation from oppressive systems. Thank you for joining us in making this vision a reality.
