I have friends who have opened up 3 or 4 registries for their baby shower. I think it is really tacky to do that and that is why I chose MyRegistry.com.  Do other people think that it is tacky too to have so many different registries?  Or am I being old fashioned?

I agree with you. I thought that it was really obnoxious when my friends did that for their weddings, and it is even more obnoxious to open up multiple registries for a baby shower. ONE registry for me!

I also agree. My friend had 3 different registries for her baby shower with the same gifts! How crazy is that?  I thought it was very tacky...

I disagree, but I would use no more than two.  I would have one registry at a baby store for the bulky stuff like furniture and nursery items, and one registry at a big box store like Target or Walmart for the random items.  Instead of sticking those little cards in the shower invites, have the person who is sending the shower invite out write in the invitation the two places you are registering for.

I don't really think that it's tacky.  It just depends.  I had registries at three places; Wal-Mart, Babies R'Us, and Target.  I had different things registered, though.  I did that to make it more convenient for everyone.  A lot of my family lives in a small town in Alabama, and they only have a Wal-Mart.  But, I love Target's baby collection, so I wanted to include that.  And Babies R' Us have more variety with cribs, crib bedding, etc., so I considered that a staple.

I have family in Wyoming, his is in Nebraska (as are my current friends). Where I'm from in WY, we don't have a Target or a Baby's R Us (the two places I WANTED to register) so I had to register at Walmart and JCpenneys. However, a lot of the unique things I wanted to add were at Target and Baby's R Us, so I registered there as well for the Nebraska folk. Unfortunately, no one informed me about this website, so I'm going to go through all of the sites and add everything here, and send out this one for everyone.

So no, I don't think it's tacky. There was a need for it. And a lot of times it makes it easier on people who don't live near one or two stores, but do live near another. I hate it when people only register at one store because it's harder to find a gift that means something when given.
