Can I keep my registry even after my event is over?
Yes! With MyRegistry.com, you can continue to add gifts as often as you like, even after your event is over. Since your registry is free, we usually advise members to keep their registry open even after the event they initially registered for has passed. You can update and change your registry type at any time, so your Wedding Registry can easily switch to a Baby Registry down the road. Your registry at MyRegistry.com works for any gift-giving occasion, and in your hectic life there are always special events and holidays on the horizon.

My guests are not computer savvy. Will they be able to use MyRegistry.com?
We find that using MyRegistry.com is so simple, even people who are not comfortable with their computers can easily master the site. To purchase a gift, all they need to do is click it and they'll be immediately directed to the website where the item can be bought. All of the details are already taken care of for them. From there, your guests need to simply add the item to their shopping cart and check out. People who aren't comfortable shopping online can ask anyone to print a gift list off of our site to be purchased at a store, although it's certainly more convenient to buy the gift online. After a gift is purchased in a store, it needs to be marked on the site as ‘Purchased’ to keep the registry updated. That can be done by anyone, even you. Select ‘Marking Gifts as Purchased’ from the menu above to learn more.

I never received an activation email. Can I still login to my account?
You can still login to your MyRegistry.com account, as long as you have your correct username and password; however you will not be able to user your gift registry until you have activated your account. To activate your account, login to MyRegistry.com. Once you are logged in, you will see a message that will allow you to resend the activation email. Please click the 'resend' button, and follow the instructions contained in the email. If you continue to have problems receiving this message, or you do not remember your password, contact our Customer Care Team (customercare@myregistry.com) for further assistance.

I’m throwing a surprise party for my friends. How can I create a registry for them without them knowing about it?
You can easily create a surprise registry for your friends. When you sign up, use their names to create the account, but enter your own contact information (e-mail address, username, password, etc.). This way, any information about the registry, such as purchased gifts, will be sent directly to you.

I created a Wedding Registry on MyRegistry.com a while ago. Can I change it to a Baby Registry now?
Yes, you can change your registry as your life changes. Turn your registry from bridal to baby, birthday to housewarming, and find a design perfect for your event and your lifestyle. When you change your registry type (select ‘Edit Registry Type / Event Information’ from the sub-menu located under the ‘Edit Registry’ tab), your options change. You'll be offered many features that match your new event.

MyRegistry.com offers a multitude of ways to customize your registry, from our ever-growing choice of stylish designs to the fact that our site allows users to constantly update and personalize their registries at any time.

MyRegistry.com members and their guests have access to nearly all of our services at no cost, with the exception of our optional Cash Gift Service. How do I tell my friends and family that I've set up a registry at MyRegistry.com?
Use our convenient Announcements to inform your friends and family about your upcoming birthday party, baby shower or bridal shower. We'll add a link to your message connecting them to your registry. Simply log in to your account, click the ‘Announcement’ tab, and choose from several beautifully-designed eCards. After you enter each e-mail address, your visitors will receive an eCard with a link to your registry. You can also track who you've sent cards to by clicking 'View history of cards sent,' located near the bottom of that same page.

How do my visitors see what gifts I have listed on my registry?
Your visitors can find your registry using our 'Find a Registry' feature, located on the top of the MyRegistry.com homepage. To search your registry, they'll need to enter your first and last name in the indicated fields. After being directed to your registry, guests will be able to view your gift list instantly.

You may also view your registry as a guest by using the 'Find a Registry' feature. Simply log in to your account and click the "View what your visitors see" link located on the center top of your registry.

Can I find out who has visited my registry?
You can learn which guests have looked at your registry by utilizing the 'Announcements' section of our site. To access this page, simply log in to your account and click the 'Announcements' tab. In this section, we offer several attractive eCards designed to help you notify loved ones about your registry. After you enter your guests' e-mail addresses, your visitors will receive an eCard with a direct link to MyRegistry.com. If you'd like to be informed of who has viewed your registry, please make sure to click the little box next to 'Notify me when the recipient has viewed my registry,' before you send your eCards. You can also check how many eCards you've sent and to whom by clicking 'View history of cards sent,' located near the bottom of that same page.

Multiple Registries

If I already have a registry at another store (like Babies R Us or Target), how will that work with MyRegistry.com?
MyRegistry.com completely eliminates the need for registries at specific stores. For example, instead of registering with Babies R Us and selecting all of your gifts from that store, you can choose some items from Babies R Us, some items from Target, and some items from The Children's Place, and with one click add the products from all of these stores to your registry at MyRegistry.com! After you add these items, go a different store, find another item you desire and add it to your registry, as well. Add as many items as you wish, from as many stores as you like, all under one centralized, beautifully-designed and easy-to-use registry. You can even list an offline gift from the local shop around the corner!

Our service does not support the automatic combination of existing registries. We recommend that our members add all of the items from their existing registries to MyRegistry.com. Once you add your items to MyRegistry.com, we suggest that avoid using other registries to prevent duplicate purchasing.

Is it possible to have more than one registry at MyRegistry.com using the same account information? I already have a Baby Registry and I would like to create a Personal Registry without deleting the Baby Registry first.
We do not recommend having two registries under the same exact name because it creates confusion for your guests when trying to locate the correct registry.

To create the appearance of more than one registry, simply categorize your existing registry. Create a category called "Baby Shower" and move all the items related to baby under that category. Then add another category and label it something like "For Me" since you are looking to make a Personal Registry.

To create a category on your registry, log in to your account and click the ‘Manage Gifts’ tab. Then click the ‘Edit Categories’ button and under the 'Create a New Category' section, add a category title (example: "For Me"). Please make sure you click the ‘Add Category’ button when you are done.

When you add a new item to your registry, you have the option of selecting a category for that item so that it will automatically appear under the chosen category.

To move an existing item on your registry to a different category, simply log in to your account, select the 'Manage Gifts' tab, find the item and click the 'Edit Gift' button in that row. In the 'Edit Gift' page, select the new category from the drop-down list and click 'Save Changes'. Now that item should appear under the category you chose.

I have two accounts at MyRegistry.com. How will my guests know to view the right registry?
We do not recommend having two registries under the same exact name because it creates confusion for your guests when trying to locate the correct registry. If you would like to cancel one of your accounts please contact us using the message box on the right and specify the exact name, username and password of the account you would like to cancel.

More than one person in my household has an account on MyRegistry.com. When I try to add gifts to my account, the gifts are added to the account of a family member who uses the same computer. How can I make sure my gifts are added to the right account?
If more than one person in your household has a MyRegistry.com account and you're using the same computer to manage those accounts (or even if you, personally, have more than one account), there's no need to install additional 'Add to MyRegistry' buttons on your browser to make certain that you're adding gifts to the right registry.

When you're ready to add a gift to your registry, click the 'Add to My Registry' button, but make sure you're logged in to the account you want to add gifts to. On the top of the page that opens up you will see the name of the account holder. If you wish to add gifts to a different account than the name you see, simply click the 'If you are not XYZ, click here' link. You'll be asked to log in to the right account and from here you can easily add gifts to the correct registry.

Naming your registry

How do I add another name to my registry?
Please log in to your account and click the ‘Edit Registry’ tab. Under the ‘Personal Info’ section, add the other person’s name (below ‘Another Name if registry is shared’). Please make sure that after you add the name you click ‘Update’ so that the information is saved to your registry.

Why is it important that I use my real first and last name when creating my registry?
We highly suggest that when you create a registry you use your first name and last name rather than something like ‘The (as the first name) Smiths’ (as the last name). If your guests do not know, they'll type your real first name and last name, and won't be able to locate your registry since you used 'The' as a first name. We recommend using your real first and last name, then adding an additional name if you'd like by clicking the 'Edit Registry' tab in the 'Account Info' section.

I live outside of the USA. Can I create an international registry?
Yes! MyRegistry.com is the ultimate international registry because you can select items from any store in the world. Although our company is based in the United States, we have members from many different countries. With MyRegistry.com, your registry is truly global.

Go to the website of any store on the globe you're interested in, find the item you desire, and with one click add it to your registry. After you add an item from one store, you can go to any other store, like Amazon.com, find another item you like, and add it to your registry, as well. Add as many items as you wish, from as many stores as you like, all under one centralized, beautifully-designed and easy-to-use registry. You can even add an offline gift from the shop around the corner. Because our registry site truly harnesses the power of the global marketplace, MyRegistry.com eliminates the need for you to open any other registries!

Keep in mind that your guests purchase gifts for you directly from the stores included in your registry, so it is important to confirm shipping policies of the stores you include to make sure they ship to your country. For example, if you add gifts from stores which ship items to the U.K., your guests will have no problem shipping your gifts to the U.K. All you need to do is post your shipping address by clicking the 'Edit Registry' tab and adding your shipping address under the ‘Personal Info’ section. Please make sure that you click the ‘Update’ button after you're done so that all the information is saved.

Can my guests use international credit cards to buy gifts for me at MyRegistry.com?
MyRegistry.com is the ultimate registry that allows you to add items from any store in the world. Although our company is based in the United States, we have members from many different countries. With MyRegistry.com, your registry is truly global.

If some of your guests are from other countries, whenever possible you should add gifts from global retailers (like Amazon.com) who accept credit cards from anywhere in the world. Since MyRegistry.com is not the store that your guests are purchasing from but rather the service that directs them to the stores on your registry, we're unable to dictate the rules that each store has regarding international credit cards. If an international guest is having trouble purchasing a gift, we'll do our best to assist them in finding the same item from a store that will accept their credit card. Please send us the title and price of the gift using the message box on the right.

Can I register for cash?
Yes, at MyRegistry.com, you have the option to set up a special Cash Gift Fund for your registry. This will allow your friends and family to easily send you cash gifts by using a credit card, a bank wire or a PayPal account.

What is a Cash Gift Fund?
A Cash Gift Fund is an optional feature on MyRegistry.com that enables you to tastefully register for cash gifts. You can name and customize your special cash fund, and it is housed on your registry with the rest of your gifts. Your special cash gift account is operated by PayPal in conjunction with MyRegistry.com. PayPal is a secure and easy way to send money from one person to another, and its services are available to anyone with an e-mail address. Recipients can connect their PayPal account to their bank account, transfer their balance, or just make payments from their PayPal account. Through PayPal, your special Cash Gift Account is as good as having cash.

How much does it cost to set up a Cash Gift Fund?
There is no charge to activate your Cash Gift Fund. MyRegistry.com does not charge members any fees to open or maintain a special cash gift account. However, PayPal charges a low transaction fee each time monies are transferred into your cash gift account.

How do I sign up for a Cash Gift Fund?
You have the option to set up your Cash Gift Fund as soon as you open an account with MyRegistry.com. If you are already a MyRegistry.com member, simply login to your account, and click on the ‘Manage Gifts’ tab. You will then need to click the ‘Activate’ button on the same line as the Cash Gift Fund. You can customize your cash gift account name and change it at any time. Our Cash Gift Fund is operated through PayPal, the leader in online fund transfer. To effectively activate this service, you will need to follow the directions provided by MyRegistry.com to set up a separate PayPal account.

How do I receive or withdraw the money contributed to my Cash Gift Fund?
When your guests contribute money to your Cash Gift Fund, MyRegistry.com automatically directs them to your PayPal account. Please note that to receive money through PayPal’s system, your PayPal account must be verified. It is only verified if PayPal confirms that your member account is connected to a bank account.

How do I know when a guest has contributed money to my Cash Gift Fund?
To view the contribution details of your Cash Gift Fund, login to your MyRegistry.com account and click the ‘Manage Gifts’ tab. When your cash gift account is activated, you will see the name and amount of the contribution under the ‘Purchased By’ column. The contributor provides the information about his/her cash gift. If the visitor wants to personally notify you of their contribution, they have the option to send you an eCard through MyRegistry.com. If you want to be notified when someone purchases a gift or contributes money to your cash gift account, you can login to your account and click the ‘Edit Registry’ tab. Under ‘Account Info’, you can opt to receive e-mails or text messages by clicking the appropriate box.

How do I make changes or edit the information on my Cash Gift Fund?
If you want to make any changes to your Cash Gift Fund name or notes, simply login to your account and click the ‘Manage Gifts’ tab. Click the ‘Edit Cash Gift Account’ button on the same line as your Cash Gift Fund, and you’ll be able to make changes to the name and notes of your fund. Please remember to click the ‘Update’ button to save any changes.

Can I delete my Cash Gift Fund?
MyRegistry.com created its patent-pending Cash Gift Fund to be available anytime you wish to use it. As a result, you cannot completely delete this feature; however you can deactivate the account so that your guests are unable to see your Cash Gift Fund or make contributions to it. To deactivate your Cash Gift Fund, login to MyRegistry.com, click the ‘Manage Gifts’ tab, and click the ‘Deactivate My Cash Gift’ button.

I opened up a Cash Gift Fund and it does not appear on my registry. Why?
To open up your Cash Gift Fund, follow two easy steps. First, fill out an application for an account with PayPal through MyRegistry.com’s sign up page. Then, confirm your PayPal account through a confirmation e-mail from PayPal. Once you’ve completed these two steps, your special cash fund should appear on your registry within 24 hours. If it does not, please contact us using the message box on the right.

Can I change the email address used on my Cash Gift Fund?
MyRegistry.com wants to ensure that you effectively receive your cash gifts through PayPal. To change the email that you used to activate your Cash Gift Fund, simply login to MyRegistry.com, and click the ‘Manage Gifts’ tab. Click the ‘Edit Cash Gift Account’ button on the same line as your Cash Gift Fund, and follow the ‘Change my PayPal email address’ link. Enter the email address that you wish to use, and click the ‘send’ button. If you did not activate your Cash Gift Fund at sign-up, MyRegistry.com automatically links the Cash Gift Fund with the email address that you provided at registry sign-up. To change this email address, simply login to MyRegistry.com, and click the ‘Manage Gifts’ tab. Click the ‘Activate’ button on the same line as your Cash Gift Fund, and follow the ‘Change my PayPal email address’ link. Enter the email address that you wish to use, and click the ‘send’ button.

Can I set up more than one Cash Gift Fund on my registry?
Currently, you can only have one Cash Gift Fund on your registry. We think having multiple Cash Gift Funds is a great idea, and hope to expand the cash gift feature in the future. Yes! It is easy to give a cash gift to any MyRegistry.com member that has activated their special Cash Gift Fund. When you are viewing a member’s registry, click the ‘Give a Cash Gift’ button, and follow the instructions. You will be directed to a separate page that will enable you to securely send a cash gift by providing your billing address, payment information and cash gift amount.

How do I contribute money to a Cash Gift fund?
Once you have located a member’s Cash Gift Fund, click the ‘Give a Cash Gift’ button to begin the process. MyRegistry.com’s Cash Gift giving process works in conjunction with PayPal. To alleviate the costs involved with cash gifts, MyRegistry.com charges a modest handling fee. Before you can continue to PayPal, MyRegistry.com will prompt you to enter your billing information. Once we have processed your handling fee, you will be seamlessly redirected to PayPal, where you can easily send your cash gift using the following methods of payment: PayPal, Credit Card, or Bank wire.

Are there any restrictions on the amount I can contribute to a Cash Gift Fund?
Cash Gift Funds provide gift givers and receivers an enormous amount of freedom; however there is a $25.00 minimum cash gift contribution. Additionally, a visitor cannot contribute more than $1,000.00 to a Cash Gift Fund during any one transaction. There are no limitations on the number of transactions a guest can make.

To cover the costs involved in the Cash Gift Service, MyRegistry.com assesses a modest handling fee to complete all Cash Gift Fund transactions. The MyRegistry.com handling fee will appear as a separate transaction on your monthly billing statement. As a courtesy to organizations and charities, MyRegistry.com will charge a flat handling fee of $2.00 to visitors, regardless of the cash gift amount. The minimum and maximum dollar amounts still apply for cash gifts made to organizations and charities.

How can I be sure that my cash gift went to the correct account?
MyRegistry.com’s Cash Gift Fund works in conjunction with PayPal, the most trusted name in online fund transfer. When you send a cash gift, you are sending it to a PayPal account that has been opened and verified by the registry holder. This means that all funds will go directly into an account that the member has specified. Upon sending a cash gift, you will receive two confirmation emails: the MyRegistry.com confirmation email ensures that we have received your cash gift contribution request, and the confirmation email from PayPal states that your cash gift has been delivered to the correct account.

Securing your Registry with a password

Should I set up a visitors’ password?
When you add a visitors' password to your registry, ONLY your guests can view your registry. Your account is always secure even without a password, (no one can edit it, cancel it or change any information), but if you choose not to add a password, it means that anyone can easily VIEW your registry. They cannot add, change or delete items on your registry, but they can mark a gift as 'Purchased', view your photos, event information, shipping address or any other information you choose to post on your registry for your guests. That's why we highly recommend adding a visitors' password to your registry.

You can always add, remove or change your visitors' password when you login to your account and go to 'Edit Registry'.

How do I add or change the Visitors’ Password?
To add or change your visitors’ password, please log in to your account and click the ‘Edit Registry’ tab. In the 'Edit Profile' page, under 'Account Info', you will see ‘Your visitors’ password’. All you need to do is make the changes to your password and click 'Update'.

What happens if a visitor does not remember my password?
When your visitor locates your registry through ‘Find a Registry’, they can click ‘Request Password’. This option sends a request to your e-mail and you may choose to provide your password to that guest.

How do I tell my friends that I added or changed my visitors’ password?
You need to log in to your account and click the ‘Announcements’ tab. Select a theme, enter your friends’ e-mail addresses and add your message. Check the box ‘Allow the receiver to use the link without entering my visitors' password’ if you want your friends to be directed straight to your registry.

I don't know my friend’s password. How can I view their registry?
When you click the 'Go to Their Registry' button and are asked to enter a password, it means that your friend has a password securing their registry. If you don't know your friend's password, please click the 'Request Password' button, enter your name and e-mail and click 'Send' to ask them for the password to their registry.

Can my guests view my registry without a password?
It's your choice whether or not to have a visitors’ password. If your account asks for a password to view the registry, it means that you entered one when you first signed up to open an account. MyRegistry.com recommends having a visitors' password to protect your registry from unauthorized people viewing or changing it. Nevertheless, canceling your visitors' password is easy to do if you wish to. Simply log in to your account, click the 'Edit Registry' tab and in the 'Edit Profile' page under 'Account Info', you will see ‘Your visitors’ password’. All you need to do is delete your password and click 'Update'.

What stores can I add items from?
As a member of MyRegistry.com, you can add gifts from any store in the world to your registry. Choose gifts from foreign countries or that little boutique down the street, regardless of whether or not your favorite stores have websites. You can also get creative and add items like airplane tickets, horseback riding lessons, or a romantic dinner for two at your favorite restaurant. Our time-saving site is easy to manage and fun for friends and family to use. Go wild and add as many items as you want. The only limit to what you can register for is your imagination.

How do I add an item to my registry?
Adding gifts to your registry is easy. Whenever you come across an item on an Internet site that you'd like to add, simply press the ‘Add to MyRegistry’ button. A new window should pop up that will prompt you to log in and type in the details of the item you're adding. Then, press the ‘Add This Gift’ button and the item you've chosen will be automatically added to your registry. If you need instructions for adding the button to your browser, please go to ‘Using the ‘Add to MyRegistry’ button’ link on the right.

How can my guests contribute towards a big item on my registry?
If you'd like to offer your guests partial payment purchases, please set up a Cash Gift account on your registry. You can give it a name and add notes so that your guests will know exactly what you've designated your special fund for. Please select ‘Receiving Cash Gifts’ from the menu above to learn more.

If you don't want to set up a Cash Gift fund, you can choose items from a store that also sells gift certificates. We find that many of our members post the quantity of gift certificates they need to purchase a particular item on their registry. In the notes section, describe what you want to purchase to give the buyers of your gift certificates an idea of what the certificates are for. MyRegistry.com easily allows you to register for multiples of the same item by entering the quantity desired in the proper box. It's simple!

How do I let my guests know the exact size and color of the gift I want?
We highly recommend being as direct and detailed as possible when describing the gift you're registering for (color, size, title, etc). Use the ‘Notes’ section of each gift to specify information when you add or edit an item. When your visitors go to purchase your gift, this kind of information will allow them to buy exactly what you want.

To add 'Notes' to an item, simply log in to your account and click the 'Manage Gifts' tab. Click the 'Edit Gift' button of the item you want to add 'Notes' to, and you'll see a section where you can type more details about a particular gift. Once you finish adding your 'Notes', make sure to click the 'Save Changes' button so all of your information is saved.

You can also indicate specific details about a gift when initially adding that item to your registry. In the 'Add Gift to MyRegistry' window you'll see the 'Notes' section (underneath the space where you enter the price of the item). Simply add any additional information there and you'll be on your way to opening the exact gift you'd hoped for!

Should I add online gifts or offline gifts to my registry?
When you add an online gift to your registry, you're actually setting up a direct link, simplifying the purchasing process for your visitors. We highly recommend adding online gifts to your registry.

When you add an offline gift (a gift that is not linked to an online store), your guests will need to print each item and purchase it in the brick-and-mortar store, or search for it on the web. They'll also need to go back to your registry to mark that gift as ‘Purchased’ after they buy it.

Can I add gifts to my registry without showing them to my guests?
To add gifts to your registry without showing them to your guests, simply add them to the 'Private' category which can only be viewed by YOU (select ‘Private’ from the drop-down menu when adding a gift). This is a great tool that many of our members use to create their own shopping list for future gifts. For example, if you would like two similar gifts, but you wish someone would buy you one of them first, you can "save" the other one under the 'Private' category. Then, once the first item is bought, you can easily change the category of the second item to make it visible on your gift list for your visitors.

When my guests go to buy gifts, the link to the store does not work. Are there stores I should not add gifts from?
It could be that you added gifts from a website that uses Flash technology, in which case the link to the product will not work. Websites that ask you for your state or ZIP code before entering may also cause issues. We do not recommend adding gifts from sites where items do not have their own web pages. You don't want to confuse your guest by connecting to a page full of different items. We also do not recommend using sites where your visitors will have to pay a premium, such as member sites like Costco or Sam’s Club. If you've already added gifts to your shopping cart from a problematic store, go back to your registry and add new items. You can easily log in and delete the old items by clicking on the 'Manage Gifts' button.

Also, if you add gifts to your registry after you've already added those items to your shopping cart at the store's site, the links to these items will not function properly on your registry. Delete the items and go back to the store's website. Add the items from their individual page within the store's site but DO NOT add them to your shopping cart before putting them on your registry.

How do I add an item from an actual store (not a website)?
You can simply add an offline gift by clicking the ‘Add Offline Gift’ button located in your ‘Manage Gifts’ page. There you will need to provide information describing the gift (including title, description, quantity desired and price) and the store where it can be purchased (such as the name of the store and address).

If your guest decides to buy you an offline gift they will need to return to your registry and update the gift status. They simply need to click the 'Buy Gift' button of the item they bought. A window will open where MyRegistry.com will ask for the quantity bought. They will need to click 'Mark this Gift as Purchased' button and that gift will
